Phoenix was rescued on 9/14/2010 from the Downey Animal Shelter. He had been used as a bait dog and then thrown out on the streets like garbage. His ears were either mauled or cut off and he bears the scars of years of abuse. We are devoted to helping him start a journey of happiness!
Seeing these new photos is so wonderful! Thank you to the family that has given him his peaceful and loving home and for all that were willing. Phoenix is so special and has so much love to give back. Peace.
The reality is that NO ONE would've taken a second look at Phoenix at the shelter... Those 60+ applicants who have expressed interest in adopting Phoenix..we hope that each family now adopts a dog from COASTAL GSR or from a local shelter. There are many, many more precious dogs who need good homes.
As a COASTAL GSR alumni, we encourage you to consider one of these majestic GSDs, and we thank COASTAL GSR for their continued efforts in saving the lives of GSDs.
This is a wonderful beginning for both Phoenix and his new owners. Hope to see some followup reports and see a little more happiness in Phoenix's eyes. Many thanks to all of Phoenix's caregivers during his rescue. Best wishes to the new owners - give Phoenix the biggest, plushest bed for his sore body!
Phoenix' family, thanks for sharing the pics. You can see this boy has a lot of fans, and now so do you! You done good, and I hope he's as good to you as you will be to him.
This is such a wonderful beginning for Phoenix and his new family. I'm very much happy to see that he is in good care with having happy eyes. Thanks COASTAL GSR for giving such happy homes.
HE LOOKS MORE AT PEACE BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE WILL NEVER END UP AS A BAIT DOG AGAIN....HE MAY BE UP THERE IN AGE BUT HE WILL ALWAYS BE A PUP AT HEART.
