an outpouting of support

The outpouring of compassion and support has been simply amazing.

We know there are so many animal lovers amongst us, but some days it is hard to see that with the never ending abuse and neglect that we see day in and day out. It has been so heartwarming to see a community rally around this one dog whose face tells a story of years of abuse.

We are touched by how many people want to open their open and adopt Phoenix. Now we have the very important task of matching Phoenix with his new family. While we know Phoenix can only go to one home, we don't want to turn away and potential adopters. We are hoping that some of you caring people with consider another homeless shepherd to adopt. If you are looking to adopt and can offer a home to a dog in need, please contact us! (tiffany@coastalgsr.org) or (http://www.coastalgsr.org/GSRescueApplication.htm)

You can view other available dogs here:

We are working to turn that frown upside down!

  1. Thank you so much for keeping us up to date on Phoenix!! I along with many others forwarded the original Best Friends Network post as far and wide as possible, praying for the best possible outcome for his wonderful boy! Many hugs to Phoenix and to all involved in his rescue, care and rehabilitation. And here's to wishing wonderful outcomes for too many other incredible animals that have to suffer such disgusting and unfathomable cruelty.

  3. Sending prayers to Phoenix today and praying the right home is found for him soon with people that will love and care for him. He has the sweetest face- any updates on finding who did this to him or a reward being set for that? I would come to San Diego to see justice served for the sickies that do this. Phoenix is learning that there is some good in the world, thank goodness and I pray that the loosers that did this will suffer and be brought to justice.

  4. They apparently haven't updated the blog or coastalgsr.org website yet but I did hear on KTLA news that Phoenix found his forever home and is now with them as of last Saturday 9/25/10. The video clip should still be available at KTLA's website. It was WONDERFUL news.

Would still love to see justice against his disgusting abusers also though..and anyone that would abuse any animal!
