so many opportunities, but just one "home"

Phoenix' story stirred up emotions in far more people than we could have ever imagined. The fact that he was brutally abused by humans and animals, makes his story all the more horrific. The fact that he held himself with such grace and fortitude through all that he had endured made a lasting impression on many. As soon as his story broke, we began receiving applications to adopt Phoenix. As we read through them, they were all amazing homes wanting to give Phoenix the life he had never had. For some reason, call it a rescuer's intuition, we settled on one application to pursue. There was something about the emails that made me feel that this home would be so dedicated to Phoenix. Boy were we right.....

  1. We wish Phoenix and his new family all the best.

The reality is that NO ONE would've taken a second look at Phoenix at the shelter... Those 60+ applicants who have expressed interest in adopting Phoenix..we hope that each family now adopts a dog from COASTAL GSR or from a local shelter. There are many, many more precious dogs who need good homes.

As COASTAL GSR alumni, we encourage you to consider one of these majestic GSDs, and we thank COASTAL GSR for their continued efforts in saving the lives of GSDs.

  2. I was wondering how Phoenix is doing now that he knows there are loving humans in the world. Is he doing better around other dogs now? He's such a fortunate boy! I find is so hard to even imagine how anyone can inflict such horror on another living thing. It is just so incredibly babaric and yet there is evidance all around us of such brutality.
